On Thursday December 20th the three second grade classes were "transformed" into a hospital! The students became x-ray technicians, pharmacists and surgeons!
The students were outfitted with masks and gloves as they went through the rooms. In the "Pharmacy" the students were required to sort the "pills" by comparing their numbers. In Radiology they needed to find which number matched the x-rays, and in the surgical ward the students were able to use a scalpel(scissors) and stitches (glue) to take numbers in the expanded form, and put them back into their standard form.
The "doctors" had a great time really focusing on Place Value in a different way.
